At the end of The Lego Movie I stood up, clapped and cheered. I became a 7-year-old again. This movie cannot be quantified in a simple review so here are ten reasons why this is one of the most enjoyable films I have ever seen…

The Lego Movie is the ultimate family treat. It’s a relief to be able to watch cinema that is not exactly dead in the head, with company.The film delivers a strong message about the unlearning of (rigid) instructions and the power of human imagination. While this may be unsettling for more orthodox folks and institutions, it is important for the younger generation.

The LEGO movie has it all, jokes, references, exciting action sequences and brilliant voice acting. It’s a treat for adults and kids alike, don’t miss this one.

The film’s sheer genius lies in its ability to deliver witty jokes at a rat-a-tat speed. It’s also possibly the only film that allows everyone from Michaelangelo and Wonder Woman, to Abraham Lincoln, Gandalf and Dumbledore to show up in the same place. To borrow the very theme song of this film, everything is awesome!

There’s much to enjoy in this film for all age groups – everything from the pop culture references, the multitudes of characters, light-hearted sarcasm and above all, the fantastic script. Novel, wild, irreverent and inventive, this movie is a multicoloured marvel.

There are plenty of amusing scenes and laugh out loud moments because the film doesn’t take itself too seriously and hence you know that something funny is just around the corner. You can also see that the film is striving to aim at and achieve something instead going down the beaten path. That is what sets it apart and good times are guaranteed at the Lego Movie.

With wit, action and emotion, woven in equal measure, Miller & Lord have succeeded in making it difficult to resist revisiting the film.

The Lego Movie is a film for the whole family which shouldn’t be missed. The world of Lego awaits you. Take a leap, leave the world behind. Believe in the blocks and set your imagination free.

The message in The Lego Movie is simple: if you haven’t built things using Lego, you haven’t lived. For those whose childhood doesn’t include a Lego set, the good news is that you’re never too old to start with Lego. The Lego Movie is pure joy made out of colourful, interlocking plastic bricks and an accompanying array of minifigures and other parts.

…the painstakingly detailed rendition of the Lego universe (including water, fire and blasts) is commendable; but alas, the movie is not as memorable as such toons as Up, Shrek, Toy Story, the Lion King and the Jungle Book. – See more
