Challa aata havva yeuu dyaa! Would like to start the film’s review with this dialogue ‘Challa havva yeuu dyaa’. This blockbuster film worked well in the theatres. The genre was that of the teenage romance, but somewhere this film touched many souls. Let us see what made the film to work. The story starts with Dagdu who hails from a very poor family background. His father is a rickshaw driver whereas his mother is dead. He lives with his sister and father. Dagdu’s results are out and like every year, even he fails this year too. His father is very depressed by his attitude and beats him for the same reason. Then Dagdu along with his friends go to a food stall and they discuss something about their love lives. Dadgu is still single and then his friends search for him his love of life. They visit every college and discuss about his type. Finally, their search ends with ‘Praju’. She is a simple maharastrian girl who lives in a ‘Chawl’. Prajakta’s father is none other than ‘Shakaal’ who resembles similar to the the villain ‘Mogambo’. Dadgu is introduced to Shakaal when he distributes paper in every place and that introduction scene between Dagdu and Shakaal creates hilarious adventure in the film. The tagline ‘Naya hai waha’ is really fun to watch. You cannot stop laughing on that hilarious scene between Dagdu and Shakaal. Slowly, Dagdu starts impressing Praju and even Praju gets impressed by Dagdu’s cool attitude. Slowly friendship turns into love between these two and both of them express their love for each other. Then in the story comes Praju’s elder brother, Vallabh who has a strong body and is a man of honor. It is revealed in the end of Vallab’s love towards Praju’s singing ‘guru’. Now, soon when Shakaal comes to know about Praju’s love for Dagdu, he starts beating her and his father decides to leave the ‘chawl’. Dagdu tries every possible thing to stop Praju and her family from leaving the place, but unfortunately, he fails. The end of the movie makes you cry and little worried as what will happen in the next part. Director’s perfect direction to this film made it a blockbuster. You really can’t hold all your emotions in a single catch. The story in both the halves makes you realize the importance of teenage love. Talking about the lead performances, they have perfectly pulled all those emotions. There is sooo much in the movie, which will make you realize the importance of emotions flowing magically on the screen. The story has been shot in the slum areas and it is a perfect tribute to those teenage minds living in slums. What keeps you completely entertained are those funny scenes and dialogues narration with the combination of Hindi and Marathi. It is a fun to watch and see how many new characters and spices add together to make that movie a blockbuster. The taglines are very awesomely written. The songs have been very beautifully composed and that makes you feel like you out of the heaven thing.
