Tukaram is a 2012 Indian Marathi devotional, mythological, mythology film released on Jun 08, 2012. The film is directed by Chandrakant Kulkarni, produced by Sanjay Chhabria under banner named Everest Entertainment.
Tukaram" was born in the year 1608 in Dehu, village near Pune city to a family who were faithful followers of the idol Vitthal or Vithoba (a form of Lord Vishnu, the conserver in the Hindu Trinity). The tribe belonged to the Kunbi caste; they were moneylenders and traders by career.'Tukaram' had a very normal Childhood. He was thrilled with Lord Vitthal who he claimed as his dear friend. He was a very innocent and benevolent kid and would freely park with his toys or personal belongings with his buddies. As he grows up he takes up the family authority as his elder brother is not interested in the material universe and is drawn completely towards spiritual things. When his first companion 'Rakhma' is not able to bear a child, he bows to his family's wishes and gets wed to 'Aavli'. Tuka tries to become a good son and beau but the arrival of a major drought destroys this charming picture. He loses his mom and dad, his sister-in-law (brother's beau) dies and his elder bro 'Savji' spontaneity home. His first beau and son dies too; during this hopeless sphere of a awful three-year-long famine, 'Tukaram' realizes that the chronic treasure of God's grace is far more valuable than fleeting worldly riches and he shifts his focus to divine worship. He does not choose to quit his authorities though and follow a solitary way.Instead, he feels it is more essential to try and reduce the anguish the people around him.
