Kannada Actor Adithya was selected to play negative role. The shooting of the first look teaser and a photoshoot of the film was completed in Taramani on 5 May 2012. Controversy On June 6, 2012, Silambarasan released an one minute teaser on the internet. In the video, Hansika tells Silambarasan, "Oru sila pasangala paaka paaka thaan pudikum, aana, una maari pasangala paatha odane pudichudum". It reminds the viewers of Dhanush`s Padikathavan dialogue. However, Simbu was quick to deny any such connection. "The dialogue was part of the script. We did not want to hit out at any one. I am just doing my job and am in no mood to involve myself in any controversy," the actor said.
