Veer Bhimsen 1964

Veer Bhimsen is a 1964 Indian Bollywood musical film released on 1964. The film is directed by Chandrakant Gaur.
The story of Veer Bhimsen comes from the golden chapters of Mahabarat. . Guru Dronacharya conferred the title of `Mahabali to Bhimsen, when he defeated Prince Duryodhan and this sown the seed of revenge in the latters heart. He with the consent of uncle Shakuni, gave poison to Bhimsen and threw him in deep waters. As soon as Bhimsen reached Naaglok, the poison turned into a pill of strength and with Lord Shankars grace half of his body became rock like. This news made Duryodhan more jealous and he arranged to burn Pandavas in the lacs house, from where they escaped with lord Krishnas help. . Bhimsen married Hidamba, after killing her monster brother Hidamb. He also killed the famous monster Bakasur. Hidamba gave birth to a son named Ghatotkach. . Pandavas participated in the Draupadi Swayambar in disguise where Arjun won the hands of Draupadi, who became common wife of Pandavas due to some unconcious words of their mother Kunti. . When Pandavas were cleaning the Khandav forest for their Indraprasth, Bhimsen met his son Ghatotkach, who along with Maydanav constructed that famous architect, which being a yard of marbles gave the illusion of water. When Duryodhan visited Indraprasth he could not differntiate between the water and land and there Draypadi taunted him as a son of a blind father. Duryodhan could not tolerate it and schemingly invited Yudhisthir on the dice-table, where he lost even Draupadi. Duryodhan ordered Draupadi to sit on his left thigh and Duhdhashan started disrobing her in the presence of full gallery and Pandavas were ordered twelve years Banvas and a years Agyatvas. Bhimsen promised to break Duryodhans thigh with his Gada and oil Draupadis hairs with Duhshashans blood. . During their period of Banvas, Lord Krishna arranged a meeting between Arjun and his son Abhimanyu and advised them to pass the period of Agyatvas in the palace of king of Virat, whose daughter was in love with Abhimanyu. . Lord Krishna entered into the court of Kauravas with a message for peace and came out with a war declaration. And that was Mahabharat, which gave opportunity to Bhimsen to fulfill his promises. .
