IN A DIAMOND ROBBERY CASE, THE THIEF WHILE DOUBLE CROSSING HIS PARTNERS IS WOUNDED AND THE OTHER THIEF TRIES TO STEAL THE DIAMOND. BUT HE ESCAPES AND HIDES THE DIAMONDS IN THE RAMP OF A HORSE CARRIAGE (VICTORIA) NO 203. THE OWNER OF THIS HORSE CARRIAGE IS BLAMED FOR MURDERING AND WOUNDING THE THIEF, ARRESTED AND GIVEN LIFE IMPRISONMENT. THE WOUNDED THIEF GIVES THE KEY AND A PIECE OF PAPER TO A HOSPITAL WARD BOY(MOHAN CHOTI) AND ASKS HIM TO KEEP THE KEY IN BORIBANDER RAILWAY STATION. THE WARD BOY DOES THE SAME AND IS REWARDED WITH A DIAMONG RING. RAJA AND RANA (ASHOK KUMAR AND PRAN) ARE RELEASED FROM JAIL AND THEY SEE THE KEY. THEY TRY THEIR LUCK TO GET THE LOCK OF THE KEY. IN THE END THEY TRACE THE DIAMONDS, FIND THEM IN VICTORIA NO 203 AND THE OWNER OF THE VICTORIA NO 203 IS RELEASED FROM JAIL BY HANDING OVER THE ACTUAL CULPRIT TO THE POLICE.

Keeping a horse-drawn victoria as a motif, the movie is a crime thrill -er, filled with comic situations liberally thrown in with songs and romantic interludes. Love developes between the son of smuggler "boss" and innocent girl victoria driver. The end is happy marriage and culp- rits for prison. - We do not know how a horse carriage came to be known as Victoria. But our Victoria - "Victoria No. 203" - like a beautiful queen among women, suddenly becomes the centre of attraction of a number of crooks headed by Seth Durga Das... . Can you imagine that a dying man put three crores of rupees worth of stolen diamonds somewhere inside the innocent-looking Victoria? And the poor boy who plies the voctoria in the streets of Bombay is actually a girl (for girls are not given licences) and she also does not know that she is riding three crores of Diamonds. . Enter two lovable jail birds, Raja & Rana. They stumble on to a key, under very odd circumstances. Yest just a key-and something tells them that it is the key to a future. Poor Raja & Rana they have no idea that the key is actually the key to the same diamonds hidden in the Victoria. . Seth Durga Das, the "respectable" villian has a play boy son, Kumar, or is he?
