Wajood 1998

Wajood is a 1998 Indian Bollywood drama, action, crime, thriller film released on Dec 11, 1998. The film is directed by N. Chandra, produced by N. Chandra.

Malhar (played by Nana Patekar), who is born to a needy typist clerk, is a versatile artist who wins trophies in dramas but is never appreciated by his dad. While writing and directing dramas in his college he clashes with Apoorva (played by Madhuri Dixit), a very rich chick, and falls deeply in love with her. When she wins the Best Actress honor, she calls upon Malhar on stage and gives all the kudos to him. Malhar misinterprets these gestures as Apoorva's love for him.

Meanwhile Apoorva and Nihal (played by Mukul Dev) fall in attraction with each other. Nihal's dad, who is a wealthy administrator, decides to get them wed. Malhar assumes that this wedding is against Apoorva's will and in his protest Nihal's dad is accidentally killed. Malhar is sent to prison. Nihal loses his identity and status by his dad’s death. Apoorva's dad breaks off her engagement. In jpri, Malhar spends his days thinking of Apoorva getting wed to her bearing a child and living happily with his father; all in one family.

Malhar runs away from the jail and then starts making quick money out of wrong ways. He starts seducing rich ladies and then looting them. Nihal, a police officer, meets Apoorva, a journalist now, to solve the tragedy of the 'stranger murderer' in the city. Lastly, when Malhar comes face to face and meet with Apoorva, she tells him that she'd never liked him. Heart­broken Malhar is then trapped and dies in the end
