Zindagani is a 1986 Indian Bollywood drama film released on Jul 03, 1986. The film is directed by Prabhat Roy, produced by S. Mazumdar.
This is story of Sunitra (Raakhee Gulzar), daughter of a rich and respected Thakur (Iftekar), who falls in love with Sudershan (Suresh Oberoi) without knowing anything about him and pays the penalty of her innnocence by losing her vitue and in consequence Sumitra kills Sudeershan out of hatred. . Sumitra delivers a son but Thakur, to save his name and respect, hands over the baby to faithful servant Bhola (Amjad Khan) and tells Sumitra that the child was born dead. Bhola arrives in his village with the child and on reaching home finds his wife has delivered a daughter and died. . Bhola, while coming back ot Thakurs house with Sumitras son and his daughter, meets with a boat accient and loses Sumitras son. Bhola reaches Thakurs house with his daughter and finds Thakur dead. Sumitra accepts Bholas daughter as her own child, as before his death Thakur could not tell Sumitra whether her child was male or famale. Sumitra shifts to a different town and settles down as a well-known social worker. In course of time her daughter Anu (Rati Agnihotri) grows up as a charming, beautiful college-going girl who studies in a different city. . In the same college studies a yong robust boy Anand (Mithun Chakrabory lost son of sumitra, who is a photographer by hoby and means. Anu and Anand share competitions and a love hate relationship. . Simitra, while one day passing through a lonely area by car, breaks a big racket of flesh trade controlled by Natwar (Ranjeet). While being put behind the bars Natwar warns Sumitra that after coming out he will take revenge. On the occasion of the college annual function Sumitra attends as the Chief Guest. During the prize distribution ceremoney she was photographed with Anu and Anand. . Anands foster mother (Seema Deo) sees Sumitras photos which Anand was developing and tells Anand Sumitra is the killer of her husband Sudershan, she saw Sumitra while she killed him. . Anand vows to put Sumitra behind the bars, plans to trap Anu to reach Sumitra and acts to be in love with Anu, Anu starts loving Anand seriously. . Sumitra takes Anand to be a person like Sudershan in the life to Anu and tries to stop Anu as a consequence a misunderstanding is created between mother and daugher when it reches the peak Anu runs away to Anand. . Anand comes to Sumitra, reveals his intention and asks Sumitra to surrender herslef before the law in the interest of her daughter, otherwise he will ruin Anus life.
