Beena works as a stage actress and lives a poor lifestyle with her widowed mother. One day while returning home she is molested by Bankhe and two other men, but Rajan comes to her rescue. He escorts her home and soon both of them fall in love with each other. Rajan's dad, Rai Bahadur Gangasaran, is wealthy and does not approve of Beena at all. But when Rajan threatens to leave him, he changes his mind and permits them to get married. After the marriage they settle down to a harmonious life and soon Beena becomes pregnant. One night while driving, Rajan gets a flat tire, he leaves Beena in the car in order to get help. When he returns Beena has disappeared. She returns home the next day, and everyone is relieved to have her back. A few days later they get the news that Gopal, the Manager of the Theatre that Beena used to work with, has been arrested and charged with killing a man named Ratanlal. Gangasaran is on the jury and would like Gopal to get a fair trial. The police find out that a woman was present with Gopal at the night of the murder, but Gopal refuses to divulge her name. As a result of this refusal, he is found guilty. When the sentence is about to be passed, Beena suddenly appears in Court and testifies that she was with Gopal the night of the murder. Gopal is set free, but Beena is shunned by Rajan and Gangasaran and not only driven out of the house, but also from the town. The question does remain - what compelled Beena to spend the night with Gopal, and why was Gopal accused of killing Ratanlal?

Poverty forced Bina to take to the stage. Poet Gopal, Poet Gopal, director of the stage, loved Bina but she was not aware of it. Rajan, son of Rai Bahadur Gangasaran, saved Bina from a crisis. Rajan, and Bina fell in love with each other. When Rai Bahadur learnt that his son waned to marry an actress, he flew into a rage, but Rajans devotion for Bina proved too strong. Eventaually, Rai Bahadur had to agree to the marriage, but he imposed one condition namely that Bina should never thereafter see poet Gopal, Bina agreed to this condition and the marriage was celebrated. . It happened one night Villainy, which was fully at work, separated Bina from Rajan when they were returning home. The two goondas, who were after Bina, chased her when she was left alone. There was also a commotion in the town following a strike procession. To save herself from the goondas and the commotion, she ran into a house which turned out to be Gopals. The curfew that was imposed prevented Bina from coming out of Gopals house. Thus, she had to stay in Gopals house throughout that night. . Next morning, poet Gopal was arrested on a charge of murder. He could have cited Bina as witness to prove that he was at home throughout the curfew night. But he would not do so as it would ruin Binas life. For her part, Bina could not see an innocent man being sent to the gallows before her eyes. She rushed to the court and testified that she was with Gopal during the entire curfew night in his house. Poet Gopal was acquitted, but Bina was sent out of Rai Bahadurs house by Rajan. . When Bina, in an advanced stage of pregnacy, and her mother left the town, Bina fainted on the way. Learning that two women were in distress, Sher Khan, a friend of Rai Bahadur, not hnowing that one of them was Bina, gave them asylum in his Shergadi. There Bina gave birth to a bonny son. . Unable to bear the agony of his father, Rajan consented to marry again At Shergadi, Sher Khan, who was setting out for the marriage, saw Bina and recognised her. He realised what a noble and pure woman she was. He rushed at once to stop the marriage. Check out this page for more updates on Zindagi.
