Anup Kumar is a Actor and also worked as Director. Anup Kumar has mostly worked in Bengali and has worked in languages like Bengali, Bhojpuri, Telugu, Hindi.
He was born on 17 June 1930 and died on 3 September 1998. He was an Indian film actor who mainly worked in Bengali cinema. He was born in Kolkata. He was born as Satyen Das. He was born to mother Bijoya Das and his father was Dhirendra Nath Das who was a singer. He completed his matriculation from Calcutta Jubilee Institution. He got married to the actress ‘Aloka Ganguly’.He began his acting as a child artist. He worked in movies like: Harikatha (1938). Nimontron and Palatak. He was given the Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards (BFJA Awards) for Best Actor in the film Palatak. He also won the West Bengal Natya Academy Award. He was also the recipient of Siromoni Prize and in 1991. He also worked with: classic comedians like Nabadwip Haldar, Bhanu Bandopadhyay, Jahar Roy and Rabi Ghosh, Anup Kumar.
