He then joined the Assam Engineering College but had to leave midway since his father passed away .He also finished his two year course in Permanent Way Engineering and joined the Northeast Frontier Railway zone in the Engineering Department. His first Assamese movie was Chameli Memsaab. He also did Bengali movie Jatra. He had acted in five languages: Bengali, Assamese, English, Hindi, and Santhali.
