She is a Punjabi girl who is actually from Chandigarh. She started her career in Punjabi movies before she entered bollywood. Then she was notice by Anurag Kashyap. He featured her in the movie Dev D.She portrayed the character of Paro. She did her master’s degree from Punjab University. She got her first film ‘Hawaayein’. She then did many Punjabi movies after this. Mahi never thought of acting, acting was just luck by chance for her. She is also a trained dancer and learnt dancing from well known institutes. Her mother also wanted to become an actress. But this couldn’t be fulfilled. With the success of the movie Dev D, she captured many hearts and now she is having many known films in her hand.
