She was one of the prominent actors of Bollywood. She was born on 1 June 1929. She died on 3 May 1981. She made her debut as a child in Talash-E-Haq in 1935. She did many commercially successful movies in her career. She did many films opposite to Raj Kapoor. She was known for the role Radha in Mother India (1957). This gave her Best Actress trophy at the Filmfare Awards. She got married to actor Sunil Dutt in 1958 and she quit the industry. Dutt died due to pancreatic cancer. She was born in Calcutta, India. Dutt was born in a Punjabi family. She had worked with many famous actors of that time including Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar.
