She was born on 24 February 1972. She is a director, actress, model and a voice actress. She is the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and Kiran Bhatt. She is the stepdaughter of Soni Razdan. She made her acting debut with the film 'Daddy'. As a lead actress, her biggest hit was 'Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin (1991)'. She was the recipient of Filmfare Best Female Debut Award for the film. She had acted in the movies such as Junoon opposite Rahul Roy , Sadak opposite 'Tadipaar' (1993), Sanjay Dutt (1991), Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin opposite Aamir Khan (1991), Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee (1993), Sir (1993), super-hit and multi-starrer Border (1997), Naaraaz (1994) opposite Mithun Chakraborty, Guneghar (1994), Hum Dono, Chaahat opposite Shahrukh Khan (1996), Angrakshak opposite Sunny Deol (1995), Tamanna (1997) and Zakhm (1998).
