She is the niece of veteran Tamil comedian Cho Ramaswamy. She was trained in Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi dances. She started her career at the age of 13. She has acted in the movies like: Ammoru (Amman in Tamil), Raja Kaliamman,Sree Raja Rajeshwari, Annai Kaligambal, Kutty Pisasu and Madurai Meenatchi. She has worked with noted actors like: N. T. Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Krishna,Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Balakrishna, Jagapathi Babu, Rajendra Prasad, Srikanth, Rajasekhar, Junior NTR, and Mahesh Babu. She was given Government of Andhra Pradesh and a National Award from the Indian Government as well. She also judged the STAR Vijay: Jodi Number One, season 1, followed by season 5.
