He was born on 15 February 1947.He is the actor, director as well as producer. He is the elder son of Kapoor family. He attended Col.Brown Cambridge School, Dehradun. He is the son of Raj Kapoor and his grandson of Prithviraj Kapoor. He is married to the actress Babita and has two daughters: Karishma and Kareena. He started his career as a child artist. He acted in the movie Shree 420 and Do Ustad.As an adult; he made his entry with the movie Kal Aaj Aur Kal. He then acted in there other movies like: Jeet, Raampur Ka Lakshman and Jawani Diwani. The movies were hit at the box-office. Then after this, he acted in 34 films from 1971-1987 and 22 of them were box-office hits. He was one of the third- highest paid actors in the golden era of 1975. Then he has also acted in many multi-star films too. Her then turned to producing the films and quit acting. He produced films like: Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985) and Henna (1991) which were blockbusters. He then also produced Prem Granth which was again a hit.
