Shyamal Mitra

Shyamal Mitra is a Music Director and also worked as Singer, Actor, Producer, Background Music. Shyamal Mitra has mostly worked in Bengali and has worked in languages like Bengali, Hindi.
He was born on 14 January 1929. He died on 15 November 1987. He was a Bengali singer, composer and producer. He was a noted musician of the golden era of Bengali music industry with the musicians like: Hemanta Mukherjee and Manna Dey. He worked as a music director in more than fifty movies. He also sang song in languages like: Hindi, Assamese and Oriya. He was born in Naihati. He was born to Dr. Sadhan Kumar Mitra. His mother was local singer Mrinal Kanti Ghosh. He completed his education from Hooghly Mohsin College, and then affiliated with the University of Calcutta, for his graduation degree. He gave many hit films like: Joy Maa Kali Boarding, Jamalaye Jibonto Manush, Bhranti Bilash. He also produced certain movies like: Rajkanya, Kheya, and Ami Se O Sakha. He also worked with Shakti Samanta's films, like Amanush, Ananda Ashram, F.C.Mehra's film Bandi, Basu Chatterjee’s films like Safed Jhooth, Mamta etc. He worked with many known artists like: Hemanta Kumar Mukhopadhyay, Tarun Bandyopadhyay, Dhananjay Bhattacharya, Pratima Bandyopadhyay, Sandhya Mukhopadhyay, Satinath Mukhopadhyay, Ila Basu, Supriti Ghosh, Gayatri Basu, Talat Mahmood and Kishore Kumar.
