Smita Patil

She was born on 17 October 1955 and she died on 13 December 1986. She was amongst the famous bollywood personalities. She appeared in the Indian movies in 80s. She got two National Film Awards and a Filmfare Award. She also got Padma Shri award. She completed her graduation from ‘Film and Television Institute of India’ in Pune. She made her bollywood entry with the film’ Charandas Chor’. She then did movies like: Manthan (1977), Bhumika (1977),Aakrosh (1980), Chakra (1981), Chidambaram (1985) and Mirch Masala (1985). She was the member of Women's Centre in Mumbai. She was married to the actor Raj Babbar. She died due to the complications in the pregnancy. She left behind her child ’Prateik Babbar’. She was born in Kunbhi family. She was born to Maharashtrian politician, Shivajirao Girdhar Patil and social worker mother Vidyatai Patil, from Shirpur town.
