She was born on 7 November 1947. She is a famous singer and jazz and singer. She is a popular singer of 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. She was born in Mumbai and she belonged to a Tamil family. Her family actually hailed from Madras. She completed her studies from St. Agnes High School. When she was in her school, her music teacher neglected her because she was not fit for this profession. But her music trainer identified something in her voice and would appreciate her. Her parents were also classical appreciators too. She is married to Mr Jani Uthup from Kottayam, Kerala. She was nine years, when she participated in the singing competition. Hers sisters took her to sing for an online radio station. She also sang for Mockingbird Hill.
