Agamikal is a 1983 Indian Bengali romance film released on 1983. The film is directed by Tapan Saha, music composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.

The film is about a middle class girl, Sumita. Her parents arranged her marriage with Subinay Roy. After her marriage she came to know that Subinay was having an illicit relation with his sister-in-law. Together they tortured Sumita mentally and physically who then came back to her parents. Sumita lost her father and there was no earning member left in the family. Sumita's elder brother was mentally challenged. Sumita tried to find a job, but to no avail. To save her family she was forced to choose prostitution. One day Sumita met Sarbajit Mitra who was also on the lookout for a job.The two fell in love. But when Sarbajit came to know that Sumita was into prostitution he was upset. In the meantime Sarbajit's father got admitted in a nursing home for a heart surgery. Sumita gave the money for this to Sarbajit. Gradually they got closer to each other. Sarbajit fought for Sumita's freedom from her unpleasant profession. Sarbajit eventually had to go to jail, but before that he gave a social status to Sumita.
