Satya Narayan Chaudhury, a rich businessman goes to a village one day to look for land for his new factory. Over there he comes face to face with a girl, Shibani whose attitude and personality impresses him so he decides to get her married to his son. When he comes home and tells his son Surya to get married to this girl, his son is against it, but however he does get married to her. He makes it very clear to her from day one that he will have nothing to do with her and he married her only because his father wanted him to marry her. His sister-in-law who is against this marriage asks her sister Kaberi to woo Surya so that he can get close to her and eventually marry her and dumping Shibani.Kaberi tries her best to do that as possible.Shibani’s sister-in-law cant stand her and makes her do all the work in the house and treats her like a servant. One day Surya Narayan goes to Hong Kong for some days for some work. At that time it is discovered that Shibani is pregnant.Surya denies that the child is his and says that he had never had physical relations with Shibani which is not true as he had come home drunk one night and got close to her though he does not recall anything.
Shibani goes away and takes refuge in Chacha’s (an old servant of the Choudhury family)house.Her sister-in-law falls down the stairs and is paralyzed for life. When Surya comes to know the truth one day from Chacha when he comes across him, he is shocked. He goes to drink at a hotel where he is beaten up very badly by goons and he is fighting for his life.Shibani comes to know about Surya’s state.She lands up at the hospital, meets him and places her hand on his head. He recovers miraculously even after being unconscious for 3 days.
