The story of Aks starts with Manu Verma (played by Amitabh Bachchan). Being a well-known police officer, he is given the case of the assassination of the Indian Defence Minister. Manu after going into the depth of the case, he finds that a man known as Raghavan is the main culprit. He should be arrested and he should pay for his crimes. Later, Raghavan is hanged. After this Manu gets back to his job that is to his family with his wife (played by Nandita Das) and his young girl. But even after Raghavan's death, Justice Balwant Chaudhry is murdered in the same manner as the previous killing had taken place. Even after this, the tragedy of killing still continues. Then, Inspector Arjun is sure that the murders are done by the person who is actually copying Raghavan. But, the evidences after this take inspector Arjun to the inspector Manu Verma.
