Appu Pappu is a 2010 Indian Kannada costume drama, comedy film released on Jun 11, 2010. The film is directed by Ananta Raju. It's a children's movie. A kid takes the risk of uniting his parents, who had separated due to differences over domestic matters. There is fun in every sequence and entertainment is guaranteed till the end, with an orangutan playing a key role. Movie Review: An excellent show by director S Anantharaju who selected children as his subject and pepped it up with romance, sentiment and excellent stunts. With good script and tight narration, the story moves fast with comedy sequences that keep you entertained till the end. Though it is a children's movie, the story has a message for estranged couples as well. Anantharaju has presented the film excellently focusing on a child artiste. The story revolves around Deepa (Rekha) who goes to Cambodia on official work with her son Appu (Master Snehith). There she meets her estranged husband -- Ramesh (Abbas) -- who works as a hotel manager. The story takes a curious turn when Appu decides to bring his parents together. In this effort he is helped by Jothish Chan (Rangayana Raghu) and Pappu (orangutan). There is a new twist in the story when Appu is kidnapped from an airport and a gang headed by Konanakeri (Raju Thalikote) is desperate to grab a toy car Appu was playing with. What was there in the toy car? Does Appu succeed in uniting his parents? It is full of fun and frolic after the interval. Rekha excels with her graceful performance. Master Snehith promises to be a `little star' of the future. Komal is simply superb. Rangayana Raghu keeps you in good humour. Raju Thalikote, Abbas and Jennifer Kotwal have done justice to their roles. It is finally the orangutan that steals the show with a good performance. `Mungaru Male' Krishna is at his best in cinematography. Hamsalekha has given some excellent musical numbers.
