Story, Synopsis, Trivia, Dialogues for Badhti Ka Naam Dadhi (1974)

Badhti Ka Naam Dadhi is a 1974 Indian Bollywood comedy film released on 1974. The film is directed by Kishore Kumar, produced by Kishore Kumar , music composed by Kishore Kumar.

Kishore Kumar goes all out in this wacky comedy that actually goes nowhere. In fact, you are warned even before the titles roll, when Kishore Kumar reveals how he thought of making this nonsense. Watch it at your own risk!
Anyway, Kishore fans shouldn't mind it. I didn't, though it doesn't come anywhere close to the classic Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi or Half Ticket.
A dying, rich businessman makes a strange will: after his death, the person with the longest beard will get his kingdom. The search begins for long-bearded people, and we have numerous nonsensical subplots thrown in. The chacha-bhatija angle (Amit Kumar plays the bhatija, and Kishore the chacha), K.N. Singh doing a fine cameo as Khadak Singh, and Kishore Kumar's other avatars, all add to the royal confusion. Who wins at the end? Watch it to know.
The one thing that stands out is the excellent music score of the movie: the eight songs composed by the genius (Kishore Kumar) are a treat for music lovers. Badhti Ka Naam Dadhi, Zindagi Haseen Hai, Phir Suhani Shaam Dhali, Bhole Re Sajan, Sun Chache Haan Bhatije these are all extremely melodious numbers.

A highly amusing and fictitious musical comedy, the film tells of millionaire who conjures up a wild scheme for finding a heir who will inherit a major part of his fortune. The heir has to be a male with the longest beard in the country. This scheme of his takes the millionaire through the most bizarre, amusing, imaginable and unimaginable situations.
