Bangali is a 1936 Indian Bengali drama,family film released on 1936. The film is directed by Charu Roy, music composed by Tulsi Lahiri.

Dindas’s family consisted of his wife, a daughter and seven sons. The sons were all good for nothing, but his daughter Padma Rani was a gem. Dindas’s income was very low. Sukhdas, Dindas’s brother had a small family comprising of his wife, only son Kiran and daughter –in-law Labangalata. As his family was small, he could save some part of his earning. As Padma came of marriagable age, Dindas and his wife started dreaming of getting her married to Nisith, barrister J.N. Banerjee's son. Dindas took a huge amount of loan from Sukhdas and also mortgaged his house to him. Sukhdas’s wife arranged Padma's marriage with an old man, Ramlochan. Kiran took the main initiative of this marriage. On Kiran’s advice Ramlochan gave money to Padma's brothers so that they got involved in the marriage too. However ultimately Padma gets married to Nisith and not Ramlochan.
