Basre Ki Hoor is a 1956 Indian Bollywood costume drama, costume film released on Jan 01, 1956. The film is directed by Majnu, produced by Wasti under banner named Standard Films, music composed by Chitragupta.
Many a lives have been sacrificed at the later of the throne. The same passions misled the second Queen of Sultan of Basra to be so cruel and inhuman that she secretly handed over the baby princess, heiress to the throne, to the assasins, so that her daughter may ascend the throne, She succeeded in her disigns and after the death of Sultan her daughter was proclaimed as the successor to the throne. The day for coronation was fixed and according to the custom, on that auspicious day she had also to choose her partner for life. Ameer Maraksha had his greedy eyes on the wealth and throne of Basra, but being childless his freams were fruitless. Ameer was quite upset on this account but a young man Yusuf came to him with a letter from his deceased exiled brother informing him that the bearer of the letter was his nephew. The Ameers diplomatic foresight decided to make him his heir and proceeded to Basra along with him to participate in the coronation and the selection. The young commander of Ameer was in the hope that he shall succeed the throne but at this new turn he became frustrated and a deadly enemy of Yusfuf. At the coronation the princess were ridiculed which was resented by Yusuf and this resulted inot a fight. Yusuf was a good swordsman and he escaped and took refuge incognito in gypsys camp. There he fell in love with a gypsy girl Yasmin. On the other hand the princess of Basra selected him for his bravery as her husband. When Yusuf reached Maraksh Ameer with joy gave him this news but the prince rejected the offer and quetly left the palace and joined the gypsies again. Ameers lnog cherished hopes were shattered. There was conflict between the two loves, many a deadly fight were fought, the lives were staked. The end of all this may be seen on the screen.
