Batwara is a 1989 Indian Bollywood drama, action, adventure film released on Jul 14, 1989. The film is directed by J. P. Dutta, produced by Salim Akhtar , music composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.

The film starts with India and the concept of India after the british rule. British Rule it is the worth of talking at how people got dominated and secluded from each and every thing in India. There is a princely family subsisting of Bade Thakur (played by Shammi Kapoor), his boys named as Vikram Singh (played by Vinod Khanna), Devan (played by Vijayendra Ghatge), and a third boy who is a Police executive (played by Mohsin Khan). Devan is threatened by the things that are taking place in India, and the erosion of power by princely tribes and their dispute with the zamindars. His brothers, on the other end, consider the change.

Vikram has a slave named as Sumer Singh (played by Dharmendra). But destiny has something else in its box for the friends. Things come to such a temperament where Bade Thakur may have to decide to split the property. How will this affect the relationships of the dad and his sons? Will this impact on the ultimate bonding of Sumer and Vikram?
