Bhakta Prahlad is a 1959 Indian Bollywood film released on 1959. The Saga of Bhakta Prahlad is between a father and a son, between a ruler and his people and between man and God. . Bhakta Prahlad was hier apparent to the Mighty King Hiranya Kashyap but he had no fascination for the throne. His faith and love was fixed on God and his worship. The father was at variance to him and their ways differed in all aspects. In the struggle that ensued, the King resorted to worldy powers and the Prince relied upon the name of God. . The King tried various methods to tatke away the name of Good from the lips of Prahlad; he disowned him, banished him, imprisoned him, persecuted and tortured him. He did all this in uttar confidence of a boon that he had got from the Gods through hard penance. But the divine gifts cannot be wasted for selfish ends and in challenge to the benefactors or their devotees. The king failed to realise this simple truth when he wrongly aspired to become a God without goodlines He did not listen to his queen and when she treid to bring him round as a devoted wife should do, he discarded her as mere straw. The royal priest also tries his best but the King treated him scantily as he did with others. The king spread a net to outwit others so that he may become supreme, but ultimately he was caught in the same net that he had woven. . The Lord was promised that he will appear whenever this earth is burdened with evil. That promise was fulfilled to the letter when the King was testing his might at destroying his own son. He had erected an iron pillar heated it red hot and ordered Prahlad to embrace it. This pillar suddenly rent apart and there emerged a form half-lion, half-man and at dusk he tore the devilish king to pieces after convincing him that he was paid in his own coin.
