Story, Synopsis, Trivia, Dialogues for Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain (2014)
The movie is based on the Bhopal gas tragedy, which had happened few years back. The story starts with Dilip who gets a job in a plant in Bhopal. The plant seeks a drop in its revenues, as there is lower side of pesticides. Many people warn the side effects of the gas factory, but no one responds to this. Then after this, a labor dies due to the leakage of Methyl isocyanate. But still after this, the plant continues to function. Dilip is still given the chance of higher pay in spite of lacking essential skills. One day, water is mixed with Methyl isocyanate so that people should stop panicking from this attack. Then the organization goes to increase its revenue by combining two firms together. However, Dilip is made aware of the threat by this chemical factory. Dilip comes to know of the tragedy and he decides to tell this to Motwani, who is deciding to join his firm with this. Then the factory follows an explosion and suddenly Motwani visits to evacuate the place. But this time, Dilip is busy in his sister’s wedding preparation and asks Motwani to leave the place. Then the guests feel burning sensation in their eyes and Dilip immediately guess this. Then he rushes to evacuate the space and he takes his family along with him. But in the end it is shown that how he succumbs to the toxic gas.
