Bideshini is a 1944 Indian Bengali drama,war film released on 1944. The film is directed by Premendra Mitra, music composed by Kamal Dasgupta.

It was a moonlit night. Almost nine in the clock. A blackout was declared. Suddenly the sound of the siren was heard. In such a situation first meets ? Mamata in an Air Raid Shelter. Mamata's younger brother Dulal was of a naughty type. Hearing the sound of the siren, he came out to see what was happening. Mamata ran after him to catch him. Prakash also followed her to search her brother. After some time, all clear siren was heard. Mamata and Prakash found Dulal in the ARP's first aid centre. Mamata went back home with her brother. Then Prakash realised that he had not taken the address of Mamata. Satyashib Choudhury, Prakash's father, was a rich businessman. In fear of bombing, he decided to go to Kashi. Prakash stayed back in Kolkata. One day Prakash met Dulal in the street. Dulal took Prakash to their house. Prakash met Mamata's father Jogeshwar Roy. But he did not find Mamata there. Prakash came to know that this was a rich family before but due to change of fate, they had become poor. So he tried to help them in many ways. But Mamata refused all his help. Prakash wanted to give a job in his office. Again Mamata refused that offer. Mamata told Prakash that she would prefer to join films rather than accepting those unwanted offers. Prakash came to know that shooting of a new film named "Pridoshini" was going to stop. He had a doubt in his mind. He went to the film company's office. He became the past producer of the company and the hero of the film. Mamata was the heroine of the film. On one occation during shooting, the director of the film got angry over Prakash and for that reason his entry to the studio was restricted. Satyashib Choudhury got all the news of Prakash through news paper. He came back to Kolkata and started rebuking Prakash. Prakash was thrown out of his house. In the mean time Mamata had left the cinema. There was no trace of Prakash. Satyashib Choudhury began his search for Mamata and Prakash.
