Bondita is a 1945 Indian Bengali drama film released on May 12, 1945. The film is directed by Hemanta Gupta, music composed by Timir Baran.

The only inheritor of rich zamindar Abinash Roy was Kunal. He came to Calcutta for his study. But he became closely associated with a family and after that he had to marry. One day a half year had passed. Kunal became father of a son Tapan Kumar. Kunal's parents could not dream of such action of their son. So, one day Abinash Roy sent a telegram to Kunal to come back as they had settled his marriage. Kunal's wife Kalpana become anxious but Kunal assured her saying that his father won't be that much cruel. So he left for his village. Some time there appeared Kalpana's ex-lover Manab. He wanted to start again. Kunal returned from station to his house as he forget to take his train ticket and money bag. He was surprised Seeing Manab there. Kalpana said it was he who spoilt her life; Kunal was so excited he hit Manab in his head. Manab became senseless. Kunal thought he had murdered Manab,so he became traceless.A few months had pussed, but there was no trace of Kunal. Not getting any way out Kalpana left his son in an orphanage. Kalpana became so sick that she had to get admission in a hospital. Abinash Roy issued an advertisement in newspaper with a hope to get back his grandson and daughter-in-law. Getting a reply from the orphanage he took Tapan Kumar from there. Bring released from hospital Kalpana came to the orphanage and heard that Tapan was taken back by Abinash Roy. She went there and only then all the confusions were cleared and everything united again.
