Bomkesh Bakshi is a different genre of Anjan Dutt cinema — straight, crisp and gripping as a detective film ought to be. The expertise lies in holding the interest of such a verbose story, till the end. In many of his films, Anjan has tended to preach or establish his side of the story, but here he has closely followed the book. Ajit’s (Saswata Chatterjee) voiceover on the riots and Independence makes this ‘period’ film contemporary.Read full review
