Censor is a 2001 Indian Bollywood romance, musical, drama, social film released on Apr 06, 2001. The film is directed by Dev Anand, produced by Dev Anand , music composed by Jatin-Lalit.
Under the advices of the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, the Indian Censor Board gives a list of cuts for Bollywood film producer, Vikramjeet's new film “Aane Wala Kal". Vikramjeet is depressed and decides to meet the Minister himself to bid against these cuts, only to find out that the Minister aids even more cuts. Then Vikramjeet shows this story in a private theatre to an audience from all walks of life, he then makes their written opinion, hides a copy to America, just in time to see that it is nominated for an Oscar. This is where Vikramjeet's has troubles to start as the Censor Board refuses to grant a "U" certificate; he is handcuffed for smuggling the movie without agreement from the Reserve Bank of India. The only way he can deserts the wrath of the authorities is getting some fans and stars of his story to gather some dirt on the Censor Board members and barred them publicly. But will this mitigates the authorities, or will it will provoked the situation. See what the cagey 80-year old veteran does to try and show his film uncut and with the "U" rating.
