Chandramukhi is a 1960 Indian Bollywood film released on 1960. Inscrutable are the ways of Destiny. After great penace, the Mharaja of Raigadh was blessed with a son. But his happiness was short lived. Because he was cursed by a Brahmin that the moment he sees the face of his son, he will lose his eyesight. The Minister packed the child in a box and threw it in the river. The shephard got the child and brought him up as his own. . The years rolled by and the young prince one day cames near the statue and plays his flute. Withe the magic of the music, the statue comes to life in the form of princess Chandramukhi who falls in love with the prince. . Chandramukhi, the princess of Anjangadh, was in the possession of a Ginie. To rescue her, the prince goes to the kingdom of Ginie but he is arrested. With the help of a magicain, the Maharaja of Anjangadh freed his daughter from Ginie but the lovers were separated. While roaming in the jungles of Raighdh the prince was arrested and produced before Maharaja. On seeing the prince, the Maharaja lost his sight. The astrologer said that the eyesight can be resored with the essence of the flower Cahndramukhi. . In search of the folower, the prince one day entered the boundaries of Anjanghdh. Due to a fall from the staircse, the Maharaja of Anjangadh was senseless. But the musical cords of the flute brought the Maharaja to his senses. The princess was overwhelmed with joy to meet her lover The magician who had become the Minister wanted to marry the princess. He, therefore, compelled the princess to consent her marriage with him Now the prince had to face two hurdles to secure the flower of Chandramukhi and to get the hand of prineess Chandramukhi in marriage.
