Chhupa Rustam is a 1973 Indian Bollywood social film released on 1973. The film is directed by Vijay Anand, produced by Vijay Anand , music composed by Kalyanji-Anandji.

Prof Harbanslal (A.K.Hangal) has been awarded a grant of Rs 50000 by the Indian Government for his research on Nangla Valley, in Himachal Pradesh. He is very close to finding out the exact spot where centuries ago a gold civilization existed. And so the bad guys Ajit, Prem Chopra, and Premnath try to get the secret out of him, but in vain. They plan to kidnap the wife and son of businessman Rajinder Jain (Sajjan) who has bought Nangla Valley from the government to build a resort there. Jain is forced to help the baddies explore the grounds and also agree to Ajit's demand of getting his daughter (Hema) married to Bahadar (Prem Chopra). It is here that our chhupa rustam (Dev) appears, first as a qawwal, and then as Natwarlal, who kidnaps Hema and then plays an interesting game with the villains to foil their plans. He, ably supported by a very funny Vijay Anand, infiltrates the den of the villains and finally, after sacrificing his dad (Prof Harbanslal), brings the baddies to book. And we actually see the gold city at the end of the film!
