Chowky 2013

Chowky is a 2013 Indian Bollywood drama film released on 2013. The film is directed by Kitu Ghosh, produced by Bunty Walia.

Any situation, object or philosophy can be perceived in many ways.

Who decides what is right or wrong? It's all a point of view. What's right for one; might be wrong for the other. Which in turn leads to several important questions like: Is killing a human being justified under any circumstances? If not, what does that make our army personnel, armed forces, law enforcements, one such force being the Police. Chowky, is set in a Police post, and is a night long journey of two individuals.

The film revolves around a criminal, Sub-Inspector, over an eventful night, in a Chowky [Police Station] where fate has got the two together.

The Criminal captures the inspector's interest, as he is educated and speaks English, which is uncommon for criminals in this part of the world. He is furthermore intrigued by this man when he refuses to file an FIR for the crime, and is sucked into a conversation that leads to a world of deceit, madness, revenge and inherent chauvinism, unearthing a hidden connection.

What follows is an exciting journey in flashbacks that establishes them both as having similar traits, with one crucial fact that sets them apart, one is in a uniform. As the story unfolds, the third protagonist is revealed. An elusive bar dancer, one man's love is another's lust, completing the triangle and she soon becomes the motive and justification for their crimes.

Chowky takes you through a powerful narrative, woven in a web of deceit and crime that finally leads you to the Chowky [police station] where the real truth unfolds. The Viewer wonders throughout whether the stories told by the two are a fantasy or reality.

The interest further cements when they switch places bringing a whole new dimension to the story. A series of knots begin to open, leaving the viewer dumbfounded.
