Coolie No.1 is a 1995 Indian Bollywood comedy film released on Jun 30, 1995. The film is directed by David Dhawan, produced by Vashu Bhagnani , music composed by Anand-Milind.

Pandit Shaadiram Gharjore is a village test­maker. When he takes some guy's tribe to see Malti, then Hoshyar Chand (her daddy) slanders the family and throw them out, saying he needs a son­in­law at least 40 times rich than he. Panditji is so ashamed that he vows to do something about Hoshyar Chand's pride. This is where the tell tale begins. Panditji goes to his buddy named Raju (Coolie No. 1) and convinces him to act to be the son of the richest man in Asia. After a lot of planning on the part of Hoshyar Chand, Malti and Raju get wed. The rest of the movie revolves around upholding this bit of fraud, and gets very interesting. The story has many twists and turns and it creates an over­lasting impression in the minds of the viewers. The tale is very simple and has many stories.
