Darwaza is a 1978 Indian Bollywood horror film released on Jan 01, 1978. The film is directed by Shyam Ramsay, produced by Kiran Ramsay.

A Thakur unintentionally kills the god man Dharma (Rakesh Pandey) by burning his hut in front of his mother (Dulari) & brother Shankar. Looking at the dangerous situation in the village as well as his own deteriorating health Thakur sends his young boy Suraj in town to Vakil (Krishna Dhawan) through his servant Shambhoo (Trilok Kapoor). Time passes & after several years the kid grows up as Suraj Singh (Anil Dhawan). He & Vakil's daughter Rachna (Shamlee) love each other & marry. He is aware of the property in village. Despite everyone's will, he & Rachna head to village to look at the haveli. So many horrifying events take place in their journey as well as after reaching the haveli. Shankar (Imtiaz) too gets ready to take revenge, of his brother Dharma's death. Goga (Shakti Kapoor) too create enemosity between Shankar & Suraj. Ignoring wife Reshma (Anju Mahendra) request, Shankar goes to haveli to kill Suraj. But before he can harm Suraj, an ugly monster kills him. This monster is staying just beside the haveli & there's only one door (Darwarza) separating him from the live world. Who is this bad evil creature ? What's the secret behind his existence? Will he kill Suraj & Rachna too?

Story of a Thakur who kills a worshipper of Goddess Kali and gets a curse that all Thakurs family too would be destoryed. The Thakur, to save the only son, sends him off to the city to hs friend as the curse had turned him into an animal which kills people.
