Davpech is a 2011 Indian Marathi drama film released on Feb 25, 2011. The film is directed by Bhimrao Mude, music composed by Rohan Pradhan.
The story takes place in a fabricated village called Phulgaon. Gulabrao Kaate is a well-known member of the village and is into the flower business and organisation. That year Gulabrao has gained the prestigious "Phoolraja" award but at the award celebrations the trophy is stolen by two thieves Vyankat (played by Bharat Jadhav) and Nilkantha (played by Makrand Anaspure). While dodging the scene, Dadu (played by kushal Badrike) kidnaps and brings them to his hiding area. There he makes them a motion wherein both Vyankat and Nilkanth have to go to Phulgaon and win a unique game established in the village called "punya chi chori", in return of huge sum of financial facts. After reaching Phulgaon they first find appointments, Bharat as a greenhouse supervisor and Makrand as a school professor. Slowly they gain the trust and philanthropy of the villagers and convince them to let them aid in the game. Then starts Vyankat's and Nilkanth's long and a musical journey to win the contest.
