Deedar is a 1992 Indian Bollywood romance film released on Aug 14, 1992. The film is directed by Pramod Chakraborty, produced by Pramod Chakraborty , music composed by Anand-Milind.

Anand Malhotra (Akshay Kumar), the only son of a very wealthy industrialist, Kailashnath Malhotra (Raju Verma) is in love with the only daughter of a widowed school teacher, Gayatri Saxena (Tanuja) whose name is Sapna Saxena (Karishma Kapoor). Anand's mom (Anjana Mumtaj) & dad finds out about this romance & decide to get him married to her. On the engagement day Gayatri & Sapna do not show up & get shifted to some other house. Kailashnath gets angry & feels humilated & swears not to marry their son to Sapna. Anand gets very depressed & tries to find out from Gayatri about the reason for her refusal, but Gayatri refuses to tell him anything. Anand knew that Sapna loves him, & is determined to find out why their marriage is not possible.
