Deewanapan is a 2001 Indian Bollywood romance film released on Nov 16, 2001. The film is directed by Ashu Y. Trikha, produced by Vashu Bhagnani , music composed by Aadesh Shrivastav.
Suraj Saxena (played by Arjun Rampal) lives in a distant hill station in India with his daddy (played by Om Puri), mother (played by Smita Jaykar), and sis, Asha (played by Amita Nangia). One day, he sees Kiran Choudhary (played by Dia Mirza), who has come on holiday with her friends. He offers to show her around and they are attracted with each other. Suraj is not able to see her home by the train as his daddy has chest pains and has to be rushed to hospital. But Suraj is not able to get Kiran out of his soul. After his sis gets wed, the family decides to shifts to Bombay, where Suraj is in college and makes several new buddies, as well as becomes a famous football player. He eventually sees Kiran and both renew their romance again. Ranvir Choudhary (played by Vinod Khanna) does not acknowledges the attentions of a poor man like Suraj on his dear daughter , and has Suraj brought up before him and has introduced to his many buddies, Suraj is informed of dire emanation if he and his family do not leave town immediately. Suraj does not leave town, and hell cascades on his family and himself. His mom is not able to purchase food and is publicly ashamed; his dad is followed around by Ranvir's goons.
