Rajaram lost all his riches in speuation and could not fae his reditor Seth Dhaniram. Rajarams only daughter Leela who was eight year old, was betrothed to Lalit, the only son of Seth Dhaniram. . Dhaniram took over the possession of Seth Rajarams bunglow against his payments and also refused the matrimony of Leela and Lalit by condeming Rajaram as insolvent. Rajaram could not swallow the pill of this insult and left the bunglow, taking his widow sister Sharda and darling daughter Leela. They came for shelter in a small room in their chawl. Rajaram determined about taking his bunglow back from Dhaniram and getting his daughter married to Lalit, left the city without informing his sister Sharda. Sharda found her brother missing had to console Leela that her lather had gone on business tour. . Leela came across her comtemporories, Anop and Roopa in that chawl. Anoop took fancy to Leela and Roopas liking for Anoop remained in her heart. In the absence of Rajaram, Seth Dhaniram tool over the possession of that chawl and drew Sharda and Leela out for non - Payement of the rent. . Luck always plays an important part in everybodys life. An old servant of Seth Rajaram found Sharda and Leela on the payement and he brought them to his residence for Shelter and their comforts. . Twelve years passed like broght and dark clouds containing the rains of happiness and sorrows. Leela grew up in comforts. Anoop passed his B.A. but circcumtances forced him to be a Taxi Driver. Roopa grew up with a hidden love for Anoop in her tender heart. But Anoop always remained absorbed in the love of Leela. . Seth Rajaram returned to city after tewlve years, with lot of wealth earned from his business. He took his lost property form Seth Dhaniram and announced the Marriage of Leela and Lalit. Anoop was shocked to hear the announcement. Leela raised her voice against her father-but Duty Love or sacrifice, became the butining problem for Leela!
