The roads of the mountain had disappeared under heavy snow. . Old Prashant was tired of walking and walking all alone. Breath started leaving his constnt company.... his knees gave way to icy snows. Relaxation gave way to reminicences.... . This is perhaps his destination...! But to reach here, how long he had taken - his life-time! Before his weary eyes he started seeing the life he had lived... Far-very far he saw his own innocent childhood...his youth....divine and deoted Karuna...Between him and Karnuna was a never to meet distance of diffeiclties, which separated them forever.... . Thoughts started travelling on the wings of thoughts...How life meets these turns and twists of helplessness...he did not know... . One day he suddenly met Bimal, his childhood frined. He had to stay with him for a few days. Bimal had to pay some money to the local Zamindar Bishambar. Regular demands and non-availability of money was a hard blow for his heart. Bimals wife could not see the condition of her husband. Without hisknowldge she pawned her ornaments. . Bimla was free from the burden of Bishambar. But constant silence of Reva createed a turmoil in his mind. prashant tried and made them face the facts. Conditions started improving.... . One day Pitambar, younger and evil-eyed brother of Bishambar, entered Bimals house with illicit intentions. Young orphan Jeetu came into his way. The innocent angle wante to stop him. Jeetu was injured and all he got out of life was death. Prashant came to the rescue of law and brought the killer into open... . When he wanted to go furhter he saw the rose planted by Jeetu in the golden light of dawn. On the plant was a big red rose-with shining dew drops like tears on the cheeks . Far away, beneath the particles of snow, in the icy grave were buried those rememberences....It seemed as if it had happened only yesterday. . Stormy night again...Shadows started haunting him, chasingh him.... The eyes of Josephs widow, daughter-in-law Monica and John were focussed on him. Josephs heart was heavy with the agony of the death of his son George. Monica had lost her life partner. During days and nights of darkness he was like a light of hope in their life. Joseph wanted him to carry on his entire life with him. He had started seeing George in Prashant. Having Prashant nearer, Monica started feeling lighter, better. . Josephs desire was that Prashant should share the responsibilities of Monica.... But Prashant had a divine duty ot perform. He still had so many promises to fulfill.... .
