Story, Synopsis, Trivia, Dialogues for Dotana (1945)
While artist Aloke was waiting for the model in his studio,a young Punjabi came there and requested to save him from the police. Aloke immediately made him the model and started pointing. Police inspector came and could not find the culprit. Aloke brought that young man to his house. Aloke introduced the young man Samuel with Ivy and Helly. In the night Ivy made arrangement for Samuel in the Aloke's room. But Samuel arrange for him in the attached dressing room. When he was changing his cloths, it was found that it was actually a girl. There was a locket in her Chain. Next day Samuel left Aloke's place and rented a room some where else. She again came to Aloke's studio as kalpana Devi and started working as a model. Aloke's father Chandrabhanu Babu and his friend Mahitosh Babu came to Calcutta from Patna to finalize the marriage between Aloke and Ivy. while returning Mahitosh Babu gave a photograph of a little girl to make a painting from it. Aloke came to know that the photograph was of Sulata, Mahitosh's daughter who was lost at the age of three. Kalpana came everyday to the studio. Alike and Kalpana became friend. One day incidentally Alike saw the locket in the chain of Kalpana. He brought Kalpana to his house. He showed her the photograph given by Mahitosh babu. Kalpana found the photograph of the locket was the same as that of the photograph given by Mahitosh. Aloke realized was none other than Sulata the lost daughter of Mahitosh Babu.
