Almost simultaneously, the stock-exchange faces a great crisis; the shares of the Orient Diamond Mines are going down with a break-neck speed and Seth Romesh Chandra, uncle of Prof. Mukerji and a prosperous stock broker faces bankruptcy. . The crisis is sponsored by Sirdar Mulkraj, who is interested in the throne of Panipur State, which is occupied by his cousin, a boy prince still a minor. The Sirdars object of forcing the crisis in the Bombay market is to ruin Rangnath, the owner of the Orient Diamond Mines located in Panipur State, who is strong ally of the boy prince. Sirdar Mulkraj goes to Bombay with his DOUBLE CROSS gang to acheive his object. . Seth Ramesh Chandra is at his wits end and cannot face his creditors when he receives a letter from Ranganath, owner of the diamond mines and a distant relation of his offering him half his wealth if he arranges a marriage between Kapur, the faithful assistant of Ranganath and any girl from Seth Romeshs family. Romesh Chandra fails to induce his daughter Shanti to accept Kapur, but manages to get Romila his niece to consent to marry Kapur. She agrees provided Seth Romesh offers to help her brother Prof. Mukerji, with Rs. 500/- to perfect his experiment. . Sirdar Mulkraj through his speies comes to know of the utter ruination of Seth Romesh and his relationship with Rangnath and Kapur. He is also informed of the discovery of Prof. Mukerji and thinking that the secret of synthetic diamond would be a strong weapon in his hand, he attempts to get the formula from the professor, but is foiled in his attempt by the timely appearance of Kapur. Then follow a series of incident wherein the Sirdar tries to force Prof. Mukerji to give him the secret of the synthetic diamonds and at the same time makes amorous overtures to the professors sister Romilla, but providentially timely aid comes from a mysterious masked stranger and the story ends with a dramatic and powerful climax in which the Sirdar is exposed and his gang is captured. The mysterious masked stranger is unmasked and he turns out to be Ahmed Khan, apparently in the service of the Sirdar but in reality of a government C.I.D Officer deputed by Government to watch the Sirdars movements. Motu the fat clumsy secretary of Kapur and Shanti the fashionable and coquettish daughter of Seth Romesh provide tons of a laughter by their gags and funny love making.
