Dulari is a 1949 Indian Bollywood romance, musical, social film released on Jan 01, 1949. The film is directed by A. R. Kardar, music composed by Naushad.
On the birthday of his only child Seth Hirachand invited friends to a party whre Seth Girja Shanker gave a gift to the child of a necklace which had a locket containing her photo. The child, however was kidnapped mysteriously a few days later and the search was of no avail . The child grew up into a beautiful girl of seventeen her was named "Dulari". She had no knowledge of her past and took to singing and dancing as taught by Jagoo, a member of a camp with which she was moving. Jagoo was encouraged by Sardar of the Camp who promises to marry him withthe girl as a reward for his special efforts on Dulari. . While dancing in a street, fate brought Dulari before Prem, and both fell in love with each other, at first sight. Prem passed on his ring to her fingers as a token of friendship. . Prem dared to go to the camp and meet his girl in her small tent. They planned to meet again near the river bank as it was risky for Prem to go to the camp unobserved. Theri meetings were however disclosed to Jagoo. He became very angry at the turn of events and resolved to expedite his marriage with Dulari. . Kasturi was another girl in the camp who desried her own marriage with Jagoo and thus became jealous of Dulari. The misunderstanding was later removed when she came to know tht Dulari disliked Jagoo and was in love with an outsider- Prem. Thereafter, she became a friend to Dulari and helper her in her pursuit of love. . The camp became a hotbed of intrigues and took to open fighting order to save Dulari for the camp. Jagoo in forcing his own issue destroyed the camp. . Dulari was restored to her parents and Prem got his full reward of his daring love.
