Duniya Paagal Hai is a 1987 Indian Bollywood film released on 1987. The story revolves around few lunatics are put in an asylum. They belong to different religions, states but have got strong rapport amongst themselves. The period is during partition-days. Every patient has got ones own problem to drive them to become lunatic. Balram used to be a teacher but due to dismissal from his service; he has become of unsound mind. Malkani was a lawyer but circumstances have forced him to become lunatic. Abid is very sensitive young man who has lost his wife in Hindu-Muslim riots and the shock proved very deteriorating effect on his mental-equlibirium. He always inquires about his wife, Zakia. Salim used to sell ice-cream. He has invested all his money in the business but could not take each other meet for his children. Mental strain has made him lunatic. They are many more like him in the asylum, product of time. Still, they have very close relation for one anothers concer. There are two doctors in the hospital viz. Dr. Nisha and Dr. Gupta. Dr. Nisha is in favour of treating the patients with utmost care like children and times to know their problem sentimentally. Whereas, Dr. Gupta believes to treat them casual patient and if necessary, administer them electric shock. . After partition, both the Governments i.e. Indian and Pakistan offer re-patriation of relatives living in both the countries. When, police-officer passes this news in the hospital, all the patients revolt as they do nt want to get seperated from one-another.
