Jhumur the lively, spirited wife of Nitin finds a good friend in her office colleague Sudipto.There are rumours in the office that Sudipto and Jhumur are having an affair.Jhumur's doctor husband stays elsewhere for the sake of his profession but the couple is connected by the strong feeling of empathy & togetherness and their married life is blissful.Sudipto soon understands he has fallen for Jhumur but he cannot say that to her.Still he remains close to the couple as a friend.But with the sudden accidental death of Nitin,everything changes.The sprightful woman goes dumb being unable to cope with the shock and confines herself within the four walls of her room.She severs all links with the outside world & then goes to a remote hill station.In her self chosen exile,she discovers herself being in perfect harmony with Nature. In the vast and abundant beauty of nature,she seeks strength & solace. Sudipto gets to know about Jhumur's new address and pleads with her to go back.Jhumur refuses & asks him to settle down.Sudipto is desperate to help her come out of her morbidness and proposes marriage to her.Jhumur feels surprised to find herself in a dilemma & requests him to go away.Both of them spend a sleepless night & in the morning she cannot find Sudipto any more.She re-enters her world where the only relief is reminiscing the loving days of conjugal bliss & her relationship with Nature.
