Ek Je Achhe Kanya 2001

Ek Je Achhe Kanya is a 2001 Indian Bengali suspense film released on 2001. The film is directed by Subrato Sen, produced by Sandip Sen.

Ace photographer Anjan (Sabyasachi Chakraborty) returns to Kolkata leaving his successful career in Mumbai. He joins an ad agency in kolkata where his old friend Rupa (Debasree Roy) also works as a senior visualiser. Rupa too was in Mumbai and like Anjan she too left the city to be back to her roots. Here Anjan and Rupa rediscover their friendship in a new way and realize they love each other. They decide to marry. The problem begins when Ria (Konkona Sen), Anjan's landlord's teenage granddaughter who is infatuated with Anjan, finds out the news of marriage. Ria, obesessed with Anjan, now decides to make the couple's life hell by indulging into a series of harmful acts. Despite Rupa's suspicions Anjan ignores these intrusions as mere coincidences until he too falls victim. Desperate, Ria confesses to Anjan that she loves him and must marry him. When Anjan refuses and shuns her advances Ria vows to take revenge. She tries to falsely implicate Anjan by lodging a fake rape case against him. But her plot doesnt succeed as her friend discloses all the truth about Ria to Anjan. Ria tries to kill both of them in a burning rage but eventually gets arrested. The court finds that she lacks the mental balance and sends her to an asylum. After a couple of years later, she seems to recover and come back to home. By then a new male tenant, much like Anjan, is put up in the same place. Ria befriends him and seems all set to play the game, again.
