FORCE borrows from the masala films of yore that popularized Indian cinema in 1970s and 1980s. Love, romance, deceit, treachery, revenge, loads of action... FORCE has it all. Sure, you may find the plotline clichéd and predictable, but if the film manages to keep you hooked, if the twists and turns are truly interesting, despite the predictable path the story undertakes, the purpose is served. Thankfully, FORCE gets it right!Read full review4.0

On the whole, FORCE is an engrossing story of vendetta and the execution of the material makes it stand out in the crowd. The film has the requisite amount of zing and force, so essential for action movies that talk of heroism. If you are looking for a sensible masala film with substance, FORCE should most definitely figure on your agenda. Recommended!Read full review3.5

Six packs and eight packs can, well, pack up, John Abraham’s just set a new beefy benchmark in the Bolly body business. In Force, our original incredible jism is like this huge well-oiled machine with rippling muscles jutting out at all the right places. He is like this giant thing which can steamroll anything that comes in his way.Read full review3.5

A remake of the 2003 Tamil blockbuster Kaakha Kaakha, Force is a heady cocktail of high powered action and breezy romance that ensure there's never a dull moment. Director Nishikant Kamat too goes the Rohit Shetty-Abhinav Kashyap (Singham-Dabangg) way and tries to create an old-fashioned action film which sticks to the tried-and-tested formula of pitching the hero against the villain in umpteen high testosterone sequences of pure mara-mari.Read full review3.5
Aniruddha Guha | DNA India
The film has all the ingredients you expect in a revenge-driven Hindi fillum -- a tough hero, his ladylove, a venom-inducing villain, romance, drama, etc. But Kamat’s sensibilities keep the film firmly grounded -- the occasional flights of fancy, notwithstanding -- and what you get is an intense, hardcore action thriller.Read full review3.5

Kamath manages to bring in a reality factor to this adrenalin-pumping action fiesta. This film is perhaps almost on par with the last good cop film Sarfarosh by John Mathew Mathan. But then Mathan had the advantage of having Aamir as ACP Rathod. While you cannot even compare this ACP with that one, John puts in a sincere effort.Read full review3.5

And finally, John fights a man his own size, only lither. Vidyut Jamwal is a brilliant find. He is dapper and cold-blooded, and matches John pack to pack, fist to fist, glare to glare. His stunts are amazing, but even more enticing is his body that seems made of some kind of flexi fibre. I say, Hello, Mr Jamwal.Read full review3.0

Force may be the authorised Hindi version of the Surya-Jyothika Tamil blockbuster Khaka Khaka but it did not need to retain the south flavour in its musical sounds (Harris Jeyraj). If the story has shifted comfortably northwards in Hindi, then the sound too should have moved away from the original location.Read full review2.0

In what seems like a line scripted by the film’s hero himself, actor John Abraham says in this John Abraham gets offer from Hollywood movie, “I’m scared of two things in life: dance and drama.” We know. There’s hence little of the latter, and none of the former in this flick. Which is fair.Read full review2.0

Judged strictly by action-movie standards, this remake of the Tamil hit 'Kaakha Kaakha' delivers the goods. After all there are some slickly edited hand-to-hand fight sequences, a few breathless chases, and a little too much blood spill. Yet, because of its cardboard characterization and a weak central performance, you're emotionally disconnected from the hero, and never invested in his pain.Read full review2.0

Here's the thing. For a genre that works purely on moronic logic and one-note screenplay, Force never had much to accomplish in the first place. But its complete lack of individuality or snap makes it a boring, banal, blah and bleak experience.Read full review2.0

In the opening credits, you’ll find a line which states the film is 'inspired by' the Tamil original 'Kaakha Kaakha'. There’s more than inspiration here; several key scenes and sequences are replicated, and much else is similar. But ‘Force’ doesn’t deliver as much punch, even as it recasts John Abraham as an action hero.Read full review2.0
